September Favourites

ESSENCE Volume Stylist Curl & Hold Mascara I currently have two mascaras I use interchangeably, this one and the hyped-up Lash Extatic (European Lash Paradise) and I have to say I prefer Volume Stylist. There are several reasons why I like it more, but the most important one right now is that even though they were bought at about the same time just two months ago, Lash Extatic is running on fumes. I just can't believe it's so dry so fast. I also think that Essence mascara is more dramatic, more volumizing and creates bigger lashes. It's got a formula that behaves similar to a waterproof one, so it's more difficult to remove and that's the only thing why I still bother with L'Oreal's mascara, but Volume Stylist performs better at holding a curl (though nothing compared to a proper waterproof mascara). So far it's the cheapest regular mascara I like. ESSENCE Soft Contouring Lipliner 06 under my skin I wasn't a fan of the previous Essence lipliners

Body SOAP & GLORY Smoothie Star Body Spray I've used up a scrub from this line whose scent wasn't my favourite (maple syrup at first, but with age more like coffee), so I took a risk this smells nicer because it had very favourable reviews. It is very different, much stronger and vanilla based. I think it reminds me of  Kenzo Amour, so a mix of heavy vanilla notes with some oriental tones that make it more perfume-y rather than a gourmand, but it's also got this calming powdery type of note that makes it super cosy, like a warm blanket among scents. It's very warm and homey, basically a typical late autumn/ winter/ Christmas time type of scent, for the summer it's just way too much. Given that it's vanilla based and very strong, staying power is good, so for 5 €, you get like a proper perfume (it's a 100 ml bottle). Boots International, £4.00 SOAP & GLORY Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff I had a travel size of this, so it's technically

Makeup COLLECTION Lasting Perfection Concealer 1 Fair Boots closed their International site (why?!) so I stocked up on everything I need, this included. I actually have Catrice's Camouflage concealer in 005 for full coverage, but the shade is a bit too yellow for me, while this shade is paler and pink so it suits me better. It's also a dupe for Nars Radiant Concealer , at least on my skin and I know some won't agree, but I see no difference between them. Along with the other two I mentioned, it's one of those concealers that cover a lot. It covers almost everything, except very red blemishes  might need another layer and it gives the skin almost a doll like effect because it erases so much. It can look cakey on dry skin, so I tend to use it sparingly, especially under the eyes where I reduce the amount to a little dot of product and blend it in well. It's got a good staying power and it can last you almost all day, though I haven't tried it on oily skin yet, b

Pale Foundations & Foundation Shade Lighteners

This is in no way an unique post, in fact it's been done many times and I relied on the information in other people's posts myself in the past, so I'm only adding my contribution to the beauty world, sharing my experience with foundations I found that have a very light shade and that I was able to get one way or another here in central Europe. We don't have anywhere near the selection you can find in North America or Asia, we don't even have the selection that's sold in our neighbouring countries. In fact, if you're looking for a very pale foundation in Slovenia, right now, you can buy very little of them, unless you're buying online. Most of mine are drugstore and I buy them in various types of undertones, finishes and coverage levels, so I hope you find my contribution helpful. I have full reviews of all foundations linked in this post, so you can read about them in detail and see the before/afters. At the end also I added a list of all other very pale
