Empties #31

MAKEUP BEYU Beauty Queen Volume Mascara This is my favourite mascara with a regular, meaning non-waterproof, formula and I already miss it so much. Every mascara I get to try disappoints me in some or other way, but mostly because they don't keep my lashes at least a little bit curled. This one does everything I want - gives volume, definition and keeps my lashes lifted enough so I don't look like I have no lashes looking straight on. It can't compare to a proper waterproof mascara, but it does enough and it's easy to remove. The price is the thing that keeps me from buying it all the time, but every time a new disappointment lands in my mailbox, I regret not having this in my collection.   Repurchase: Yes. MAYBELLINE Volumin' Express the Mega Plush Mascara  Such a boring mascara, though not a useless one. It's so light and probably the most natural looking mascara I've tried. I had hoped this would thicken in time and start producing more volume, but that n...

*ESSENCE Colour Boost Mad About Matte Liquid Lipstick 05 Dangerously Yours Unexpectedly I really love this. When these launched I didn't devote them a second of attention because I thought it's going to be some lame not-really-matte formula like L'Oreal's Lip Paint Matte s, but this is properly matte in a minute or two, it applies fully opaque and the colour is gorgeous. It's the shade I wanted Maybelline's Lover to be, as it's a similar mauve shade, but much pinker and warmer. It's on my lips in the picture with the Essence highlighter. 2.99 € *MILANI Gilded Desires Eye & Face Palette Review in Slovene (I'll have an English version here too) Contains 12 matte & shimmering metallics eyeshadows, plus two highlighters. This is a crazy pigmented palette and there are not many eyeshadows I've tried that would have such an intense colour pay-off so quickly. Formula is very soft and when I pushed a bit too hard with a brush when I was swatchin...

Catrice Glitter Storm LE

Image
Glitter Storm is this year's holiday LE by Catrice. It contains an eyeshadow palette, a gel highlighter, four metallic matte liquid lipsticks and thee shades of duochrome liquid eyeliners. Liquid Eyeliner C02 Eclectic Lilac Eclectic Lilac is a duochrome shade with navy and purple shimmer. It looks amazing in the bottle, but unfortunately it's not as impressive on the eyes. It ends up looking too dark for a proper navy shade and with a barely visible duochrome effect. The formula is sheer and you can't just apply it with an easy swipe because the product moves and you get sheer patches, so the only method that works is to place the applicator on the lash line and dab on the colour.  The applicator is a stiff wand and though you can do a wing with it (or dab the wing on), it's not a comfortable liner to use. It feels so much cheaper than the one in their black liquid eyeliner from the regular line. Staying power isn't impressive either as the wing wiped off and that d...

Catrice Astrology LE Eye Palette

Image
There are only two products in Catrice's star signs inspired collection called Astrology. I have the eye palette with 12 eyeshadows and the other product is a face palette with two highlighters, a blush and a bronzer. Texture: The palette contains a mix of matte, satin and glittery shades, all vary a lot in terms of quality. Best performing are mattes which have a good pigmentation, are smooth and blend nicely, at least for drugstore eyeshadows. The satins are a stranger bunch, as one has a similar texture as matte shades and the rest are not as impressive, but still very much useful. The two glitter shades are the poorest performing shades in the palette. Both are sheer, pretty much just a collection of sparse chunky glitter and not very smooth. Shades:   Aries - a satin buttercream shade. Averagely pigmented for such a shade. Taurus - a satin off-white. The same shade as Aries on the lids. Gemini - a satin pale peachy shade. Again very similar to Aries and Taurus on the eyes, ju...
