Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick in F1

Image
I've had my eye on this foundation for a while, actually ever since I saw the praises on Instagram and I heard the lightest shade is suitable for pale skin tones, but it was only when I saw these in person in a local DM that I got one. It's a stick foundation that is available in an amazing 18 shades and promises a quick application along with a natural, dewy finish - but that is just promises. Texture: This is a very buttery and smooth feeling formula, so it just glides on with ease when you're swiping it on the skin, similar to a high quality lipstick. However, though it promises a quick application, the blending process requires quite some time and effort. I find brushes don't do the best job as the foundation than just sits strangely on the skin, like a layer of a creamy product that refuses to melt in. A sponge is a better tool, but I like to warm it up first on the radiator for better results. Fingers work well, but it's a lot more time consuming than a sponge...

Deborah 24 Ore Extra Cover 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer

Image
Deborah launched a foundation that similarly to Milani's Conceal + Perfect claims it can be used both as a foundation and a concealer, so this is a formula with a high level of coverage. It's a foundation mostly those with oily skin will like because it's a very matte. Texture: Formula is quite creamy, yet still liquid and it's one of those that sets very fast, so you don't have a lot of time to work with it. It needs extra care at blending otherwise you can end up with some splotches where the foundation dried too fast (my skin was dry-normal as I was testing this).  Coverage and finish: Coverage is as promised very high, I think even higher than Revlon's Colorstay, so you can definitely use it as a concealer if you wish. Finish is very matte, the most matte foundation I've tried apart from Estee Lauder Maximum Cover, whose formula this reminds me most of. On my not oily skin it looks flat and obvious, it also emphasizes lines and the texture of the skin, ...

Oriflame Giordani Gold MasterCreation Foundation SPF 18

Image
Giordani Gold is Oriflame's luxurious line of products, mostly targeted at more mature skin types and I got to pick my share of their products to try at their relaunch in November's campaign. MasterCreation foundation promises an anti-aging effect and a natural finish, it contains no alcohol or oils and it comes in seven shades - the lightest one is luckily very pale. Oriflame was one of the first beauty/makeup brands that I've tried and I still remember my first dips into the beauty world fondly, even though I had to idea how to even apply anything properly (no Youtube tutorials back then. Kids, you're so lucky nowadays). Texture: This is a creamy, yet light foundation that reminds me of some tinted moisturisers or BB creams, but with more coverage. It's quite a moisturising formula that'll perform especially well on dry skin. It blends nicely, but I find it's best to use a sponge as other methods (fingers or a brush) need extra time. It feels light on the...

Essence #insta perfect liquid make up

Image
#insta perfect foundation was probably one of the most exciting Essence launches this year because they finally created a diverse shade range that includes both very pale and deep shades. If you still can't find a match among nine colours, these are not expensive if you get two and mix them for a perfect shade. Both the bottle and formula bear some similarities to the famous Mac Face & Body and though it promises a strong matte effect, this is actually a very natural looking foundation. Texture: Formula is somewhere between a liquid and creamy texture, but it spreads as any light liquid foundation. It's easy to apply and blend, you also have plenty of time to work with it because it takes a while to properly set and you can build it up without it starting to look cakey, but I haven't been able to really build up the coverage to high. Any method of application works with this foundation, whether you use fingers, a brush or a sponge. Formula reminds me most of Maybelline...

My Top 5 Foundations

Image
My Top 5 Foundation post is due for an much needed update (old one from 2015 is here ), since in the past years I've discovered three foundations that really impressed me. My skin type hasn't changed since I've done the last post, nor do I have any different preferences than before. I'm happy to report that in the past three years I found foundations that I don't like just for the formula, but also by some divine intervention also fit me in terms of shades. What a time to be alive! My skin is normal-combination that is drier in winter and oilier in the summer months. I still prefer to wear foundations that look natural on the skin and I'm prepared to sacrifice high coverage for that. MAYBELLINE Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation   100 Warm Vanilla  Coverage : light-medium Finish : semi-matte Undertone : yellow (both 100 and 110) Price : 8.99 € This very quickly became my favourite foundation ever, knocking Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum of its throne where is reigne...

Covergirl Smoothers All Day Hydrating Makeup

Image
I haven't heard anything about this foundation until I got it in a swap from Canada, so I have no idea when it was released, but based on the packaging I think it might be one of the older formulas (I found reviews on Makeup Alley spanning all the way back to 2001!), which always implies a long-lasting popularity. I was initially very impressed, at least for the first few hours until I checked in the mirror. It had the potential to be one of my favourites, but failed at one crucial point. Texture: It's one of the creamier liquid foundations, but very light on the skin and pretty much undetectable once you blend it in. It sets fast, so there is no tacky feeling with this one. It blends very easily with any brush, sponge or fingers. Coverage and finish: it's got a light-medium coverage and it's a type of formula that's easy to build up. The finish is super natural and undetectable on the skin, so it's very similar to the likes of Bourjois Healthy Mix and Dior BB...

Missha Geum Sul Vitalizing Tension Pact SPF30 PA++

Image
Tension pacts are version of the popular cushion foundations and have a mesh over the compartment with the (in this case cream) foundation instead of a sponge soaked with foundation. After trying my first classic cushion compact by Tony Moly (a Pokemon edition) the whole concept really appealed to me as these are so great when you have 5 minutes to do your makeup. So I searched for more such products for me, at the top of my list were A'Pieu Air Fit #13 (I hear the shade is very pale), Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion and Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation (I tested it quickly in Müller and it looks very promising), but then I saw this one while searching for reviews of a powder in the same line. There weren't many reviews about this, let alone swatches, but those few reviews that exist were very positive. This is a part of a Missha's popular anti-age line Geum Sol and it contains ginseng water. Texture & coverage: First few dabs on the tension fabri...
