Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colour

Image
Rimmel did a great job with their Stay Matte formula, which is one of my favourites in the drugstore. They added a satin finish version to their ranges of lipsticks and they offer 14 shades (four are sold here in Slovenia). Texture: These are fully opaque with a formula that is a mix between a cream and a mousse. They don't have the super comfortable feel of Revlon's Ultra HD's because as they set/dry, they become a bit sticky. They aren't drying on my lips and since they never truly set, I doubt anyone will find them uncomfortable. The finish is a nice looking satin - it's less shiny than on my pictures because I didn't have time to wait for them to set. 130 Yuppie 130 Yuppie is a muted light-medium peachy-pink, a perfect mix of the two shades. It's a nice every day colour that I've been wearing a lot since I got it. 400 Obsession  400 Obsession is a warm hot pink. Staying power: These lasts similarly to regular lipsticks with a creamy-satin formula....

Oriflame Giordani Gold MasterCreation Lipstick

Image
One of the newly released Giordani Gold products is a range of MasterCreation lipsticks which are available in ten shades. This formula promises an anti-ageing effect, it contains a moisturising biometric peptide and has a SPF 20. It's a standard lipstick, so not my usual preferred matte finish, but I liked this straight away. Texture: Formula reminds me of Kiko's Romantic Rebel lipsticks which was a LE, but it's one of the best non-mattes I tried. It's neither overly creamy like most non-matte formulas tend to be and it's not too waxy like old-school lipsticks, so it just glides on the lips with ease, but you get a very controlled application that looks neat enough at the edges. It's a very light formula on the lips and not drying, though it's not a very moisturising formula, so not a substitute for a lip balm like some very creamy-shiny lipsticks. Finish is satin with some shine. Shade: Delicate Pink is a light-medium peachy pink, just a simple and wear...

Bourjois Lip Duo Sculpt

Image
Bourjois joined the ombre lip trend, albeit a bit late, with their new Lip Duo Sculpt lipsticks. I got two of the boldest shades in the selection, while a total of six exist. Texture:  These have a pretty standard creamy lipstick formula that's comfortable and has creamy shiny finish. They combine two shades in about 2:1 ratio with which you should be easily able to create an ombre effect. It does work, but due to a weaker pigmentation it takes a few swipes to really build up a fully opaque layer and you need to be very careful at how you place the lipstick on the lips again for a second swipe. 04 Plum'Set Beach  Plum'Set Beach is a combination of a violet-plum and tomato red, which is meant to look like a sunset. The plum is much less pigmented than the red, so it ends up looking really strange. I tried building this shade up, but the purple part is just too weak and it's more like a tinted balm than a proper lipstick.  06 Rouge Tango  Rouge Tango combines a deep an...

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid 25 Fuchsia Ecstasy

Image
These already disappeared from the shelves here (at least in my local drugstores), since they were replaced by the Matte Inks , which are Maybelline's second and a lot more successful attempt at a liquid matte lipsticks. I got mine a swap from Canada, but they can still be bought online (for Slovenes on Salma and Spletična). Formula and finish: It's a lipstick-lip gloss hybrid with a similar formula to Revlon's short-lived Moisture Stains , as it has a similar almost cooling/watery feeling on the lips. Finish is creamy and it doesn't set to a matte one, but you can blot it. Due to not being matte, it's much more comfortable on the lips than Maybelline's proper matte lipsticks Matte Inks. Shade: My shade is 25 Fuchsia Ecstasy, which is a bright warm fuchsia. It's one of those intense hot pinks that stains a lot, so you can't just take it off, as the dry parts of the lips will stay tinted. Staying power: Matte Inks are some of the most long-lasting lip p...

Bourjois Rouge Velvet the Lipstick 02 Flaming Rose

Image
I've already reviewed and swatched four of these so I discussed the formula in detail already ( 06 Abrico'dabra and 09 Fuchsia Botté  |  14 Brownette and 16 Caramelody ) . I've only kept one of those shades, 09 Fuchsia Botté, because the rest weren't in colours that I normally wear (all were PR samples), but since this is such an amazing formula, I went out and bought a shade that is most easy to wear and appropriate for every occasion.  Texture: Formula of these is incredibly smooth and they feel so buttery when I'm applying them, almost too slippery. On the lips they feel light, yet not drying, at least on me. Pigmentation of all shades I tried is great, all are fully opaque and all have one of the best matte finishes that is close to the matte liquid lipstick look.  Colour: Shade 02 Flaming Rose is a complicated shade that will look different on individuals depending on their skin tone. Essentially it's a light pink shade, but on me it looks cool at applica...

Essence Colour Up! Shine On! Lipstick 10 Rosey Glitz

Image
Unlike the lipliner I reviewed a couple of days ago, Essence did nothing to improve the formula of their shine lipsticks. These are still almost exactly the same as their first lipsticks they had from the beginning (the silver tube if you remember, then the colour ones and I think  these were the previous ones unless I missed something in between), so this is nothing new. Texture: These are soft, comfortable and sheer, so lipsticks for those who don't like lipsticks and are more of a lip gloss and lip balm fans. The colour can be build up to semi-sheer, but not opaque and the more you apply it, the less it's going to stay in one place. The finish is creamy glossy, but the shine starts disappearing fast, so you end up with a creamy stain. It feels like a lip balm on the lips and it's very comfortable, so great for dry lips. Colour: My shade is 10 Rosey glitz which looks deep reddish brown in the tube and on the lips it's a very sheer version of the shade. It's an ...

Bourjois Rouge Velvet the Lipstick 14 Brownette and 16 Caramelody

Image
BOURJOIS Rouge Velvet the lipstick 14 Brownette and 16 Caramelody These are my second pair of this lipstick formula so I already reviewed them in depth here . Bourjois added new nude shades to the original line up and I've seen four here in Slovenia: a nude peach, a pinky mauve and these two brown ones I got. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the shades because I never liked brown tones on me, so I already sent them to another blogger Petra, who is enjoying these a lot more than me ( Caramelody is in her last favourites) and she'll probably post swatches too where you'll see how these look on someone with a warmer skin tone (in the meantime check how shade 02 looks on her. It's the one I want most). I said in my review that this is my second favourite lipstick formula (favourite out of the ones that are sold in Slovenia) and I love them because they have such a smooth and light formula, which sets to a proper matte finish. Staying power of these is also great and they d...
