Revolution PRO Supreme Eyeshadow Palette Allure

Image
I'll start the way I always start my (Makeup) Revolution eyeshadow palette reviews - I've tried quite a few and have yet to be properly impressed. Every new one I try is a visible improvement, but they always have such inconsistencies in terms of quality. Supreme is so far the best I've tried and most of the eyeshadows have a strong pigmentation, but there is still room for improvement. There are eight shades in the rather inelegant looking palette, five are matte and three are shimmers. Four versions of these types of palettes exist. Texture:  Eyeshadows are very soft, but not in a buttery-creamy way, instead they are not very tightly packed, so they are quite loose and crumbly. Mattes are easily picked up by a brush, they are very pigmented and are some of the most easily blendable shades I've tried. Shimmery-metallic shades are even softer than mattes and I prefer to apply them with fingers for an intense colour payoff. Blending is also easy with those shades. But li...

L.O.V. The Rose X Copper Eyeshadow Palette

Image
L.O.V. disappeared from our drugstores, but we recently got the good news that two large online retailers, Click2Chic and Ličila.si, will carry this brand. L.O.V joined the by now a rather large club of brands that felt inspired by the success of very warm palettes in recent years and released their own with some reddish-copper shades. I look awful in such warm shades, so the colour selection isn't my favourite, but the quality is pretty good.  There are 12 eyeshadows in the palette, 4 are metallics and the rest are satins. There are no matte shades in this palette which I sorely miss. Pigmentation varies from shade to shade, but overall this is a nice quality palette. None of the shades stand out for being poorly pigmented and all blend nicely. Four shades are too similar on the eyes, so I feel like they wasted space instead of adding some useful shades, such as a cool taupe crease shade. The shade Ambitious is the most impressive in the palette, as it's very creamy, super pig...

Milani Gilded Desires Eye & Face Palette

Image
So far I've only had great experience with Milani products and I'm especially a big fan of the Conceal + Perfect foundation , but this is my first time trying their eyeshadows and this has to be one of the most pigmented eyeshadow palettes in my collection. Only  TheBalm Nude-tude is equally great and maybe Too Faced Chocolate Bar , but that one has more densely packed eyeshadows. Gilded Desires is a limited edition palette with 12 eyeshadows, 6 metallics plus 6 mattes, and two pearly highlighters.  The texture of eyeshadows is so creamy and smooth, they are some of the creamiest classic eyeshadows I've tried. Only Colourpop Super Shock , Catrice's Metal Sensation and Essence Melted Chromes are softer, but they are not as pigmented as these. Metallics are super pigmented, though it differs from shade to shade, but all have a fully opaque look with very little effort and the effect is even better if you apply them wet (I haven't tried them that way, but I saw a re...

Catrice Astrology LE Eye Palette

Image
There are only two products in Catrice's star signs inspired collection called Astrology. I have the eye palette with 12 eyeshadows and the other product is a face palette with two highlighters, a blush and a bronzer. Texture: The palette contains a mix of matte, satin and glittery shades, all vary a lot in terms of quality. Best performing are mattes which have a good pigmentation, are smooth and blend nicely, at least for drugstore eyeshadows. The satins are a stranger bunch, as one has a similar texture as matte shades and the rest are not as impressive, but still very much useful. The two glitter shades are the poorest performing shades in the palette. Both are sheer, pretty much just a collection of sparse chunky glitter and not very smooth. Shades:   Aries - a satin buttercream shade. Averagely pigmented for such a shade. Taurus - a satin off-white. The same shade as Aries on the lids. Gemini - a satin pale peachy shade. Again very similar to Aries and Taurus on the eyes, ju...

Catrice Metal Sensation Ultra Creamy Eyeshadow

Image
In the latest line updates, both Essence and Catrice launched these metallic cream-to-powder eyeshadows, but only only limited shade ranges - Catrice has just four. For my standards Catrice always had nice eyeshadows, while I was never much impressed by the Essence ones, but both of these formulas are very different from their usual offering and they're also fun to use.  Texture : Both Essence's and Catrice's eyeshadow have a very creamy, yet still powdery texture and they form dent when you try to swatch them, though Catrice's formula is creamier and softer than Essence's Chromes. I heard Colourpop's Super Shock Eyeshadow have a similar texture, but I have yet to try them (recently ordered three shades). It's a formula that I can't apply with a brush because it's just too creamy, so I always apply it with fingers and for quick blending, I use fingers too, but for a nicer diffused look, I use a fluffy brush. Pigmentation of this shade is about mediu...

Essence Melted Chrome Eyeshadow

Image
Both Essence and Catrice launched a line of cream-to-powder eyeshadow hybrids that boast with an intense metallic finish and strong pigmentation. I heard raves about Essence's version, most notably from Adjusting Beauty who's already posted her review of these. I think since L'Oreal's Infallible  eyeshadows we didn't have anything similar in our drugstores, though these are even creamier than L'Oreal's so they are something completely new to me.   Texture: These are very creamy powder eyeshadows and when you swatch them with fingers the surface dents under pressure, so it looks kind of like play-doh, but it's not quite as soft. They swatch strongly metallic and pigmented, though on the eyes, at least mine, they don't manage to look as intense without a creamy eyeshadow under it. These are very shimmery and glitter particles tend to end up everywhere, but I mean that during application, while it doesn't tend to fall off once it's on the eyes...

Catrice Eyeshadow Stix

Image
These are just the latest version of eyeshadows in a stick form that Cosnova put on offer. I've had three of their previous versions before, one were the Catrice Stylo eyeshadows , which were too shimmery and uneven, the other were the brilliant Essence 2-in-1 Eye Shadow & Liner , which were very pigmented, applied nicely and lasted really well and the last were L.O.V. THE Glacious Stylo Eyeshadows , which have a weak pigmentation and a too creamy formula. I feel the newest Catrice's Eyeshadow Stix are better than the discontinued Stylo version, but sadly not in terms of pigmentation. The shade range is much improved, however, I noticed an inconsistency between the quality of individual shades. Texture: These have a similar silicone creamy texture as the Essence 2-in-1, meaning they aren't too soft that they would move too much on the lids, but neither are they too dry. It's that almost perfect in-between type of eyeshadow texture that Kiko also has. They glide ea...

Bourjois Satin Edition 24h Eyeshadow

Image
As far as my experiences go, up until I tried this formula, liquid eyeshadows were mostly a bust. Essence currently has super pigmented new ones, but they are so difficult to blend, I could hardly consider them as a product to slap on in a hurry. I've always been a stick eyeshadow fan ( Kiko's are very impressive), but these Bourjois ones are a pleasant surprise. Several shades exist in this line, I got two easy-to-wear every day shades. Texture: Unlike Essence ones, these don't have full opacity with one coat, instead at least two coats are needed for good colour pay-off. It ends up looking so nice, more like a natural tint on the lids. Blending needs to be carefully done, I tend use fingers for the first layer, while the top layer can already be blended with a brush and it's not removing the bottom layer or messing up with the blended edges. It's not as quick as stick eyeshadows, but I like the effect. Once it sets, the formula doesn't move, smudge, flake or...
