L.O.V. The Rose X Copper Eyeshadow Palette

Image
L.O.V. disappeared from our drugstores, but we recently got the good news that two large online retailers, Click2Chic and Ličila.si, will carry this brand. L.O.V joined the by now a rather large club of brands that felt inspired by the success of very warm palettes in recent years and released their own with some reddish-copper shades. I look awful in such warm shades, so the colour selection isn't my favourite, but the quality is pretty good.  There are 12 eyeshadows in the palette, 4 are metallics and the rest are satins. There are no matte shades in this palette which I sorely miss. Pigmentation varies from shade to shade, but overall this is a nice quality palette. None of the shades stand out for being poorly pigmented and all blend nicely. Four shades are too similar on the eyes, so I feel like they wasted space instead of adding some useful shades, such as a cool taupe crease shade. The shade Ambitious is the most impressive in the palette, as it's very creamy, super pig...

New in #76: What's in my Mailbox

*ESSENCE Colour Boost Mad About Matte Liquid Lipstick 05 Dangerously Yours Unexpectedly I really love this. When these launched I didn't devote them a second of attention because I thought it's going to be some lame not-really-matte formula like L'Oreal's Lip Paint Matte s, but this is properly matte in a minute or two, it applies fully opaque and the colour is gorgeous. It's the shade I wanted Maybelline's Lover to be, as it's a similar mauve shade, but much pinker and warmer. It's on my lips in the picture with the Essence highlighter. 2.99 € *MILANI Gilded Desires Eye & Face Palette Review in Slovene (I'll have an English version here too) Contains 12 matte & shimmering metallics eyeshadows, plus two highlighters. This is a crazy pigmented palette and there are not many eyeshadows I've tried that would have such an intense colour pay-off so quickly. Formula is very soft and when I pushed a bit too hard with a brush when I was swatchin...

L.O.V. Cosmetics Lipaffair Color & Care Lipstick Brave Nudes 612 Angelina's Belief

Image
LIPaffrair are L.O.V. Cosmetic's standard line of lipsticks with a classic creamy finish, but this shade is one of the four new nude shades that were added to the range for spring/summer 2018. It's my first L.O.V. lipstick that I tried, but I've owned plenty of Catrice and Essence lipsticks which are their sister brands, and I can definitely say L.O.V. takes quality to a new level.  Texture: The lipstick is very pigmented, smooth and lightweight, so it's one of those new-age type of formulas that started appearing after Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Volupte were launched. It's actually quite a similar formula to that one with its thin, pigmented and slippery texture. Despite being creamy, it's not a moisturising type of lipstick which those with dry lips might not like, but it still feels like a high quality formula.   Colour: 612 Angelina's Belief is a medium warm rosy brown and it's the warmest such shade I own, leaning closer to a dirty peach than ...

L.O.V. Cosmetics LOVinity Nail Lacquer 264 Devoted Denim and 301 Bridal Bloom

Image
For spring/summer 2018 season L.O.V. added a few more shades my favourite nail polish line LOVinity and I got two: 264 Devoted Denim and 301 Bridal Bloom. I've reviewed the formula before in my other posts about these and these two have much the same formula, so again easy to apply as well as long-lasting (on my nails, for course).  301 Bridal Bloom 301 Bridal Bloom is a nail polish shade that's recurring among Cosnova's brands, in fact it's very similar to Essence's Forgive Me shade in the The Gel Nail Polish Line. It's a warm pastel pink and a great pastel formula, which in the era of gel nail polishes isn't that uncommon, but I still want to point out that's it's a nice formula to apply despite being thick. It's almost a one coater, it depends on how well you apply the first coat. On the pictures it's two coats with no top coat. Lana swatched it here and she reviews the formula from a point of view of someone who has weak and brittle na...

L.O.V. Cosmetics BLUSHLiason Dewy Gel Blush Stick

Image
I believe this is L.O.V.s first attempt at a cream blush in a stick form and it exists in only two shades, both are classic "starting out" colours for a brand. I have the pink 010, while 020 Alluring Peach is a peach shade which my fellow blogger Simona from Beauty of a Lemon reviewed and swatched  here . Texture: It's a semi-sheer formula that's more on a "creamy-greasy" side instead of that cream-to-powder silicone one that's more common in such blushes released in the past years. One swipe leaves you with a lot of colour, which you are supposed to blend with the brush on the other side, however, the latter is completely wrong for this type of formula as it just removes/shifts the product to another place without blending, so I much prefer blending and tapping this in with fingers. One swipe gives you a very gentle flush of colour (on my super pale skin), so it's best you build it up and slowly by concentrating the colour on the apples of the chee...
