Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose

Image
After a massive success of Butter Bronzers, Physicians Formula launched a range of Butter Blushes, which originally only came in two shades, but they later added two more, both in much brighter colours than the original two. I have one of the first two shades, Plum Rose, which is a completely unique shade in my collection. I had these on my wishlist for a long time because I heard some serious raves about the buttery creamy formula and I finally got one as a birthday gift a few months ago. I was so looking forward to trying one of these, but honestly, I felt a bit underwhelmed after the first use and I'm still not sure about it. Texture: Bronzer from this line is universally praised for its silky, buttery-creamy texture and the blush was described to have the same formula by reviewers, so I expected an almost cream-to-powder super pigmented formula, but this just isn't that special. From the start it behaved like a regular blush with a hard top layer and my thick blush brush b...

PHYSICIANS FORMULA Butter Blush Plum Rose I got this as a gift for my birthday after it has been on my wishlist for a year. Bronzer from this line is a massive drugstore hit and it's universally praised for its silky, butter texture, so I expected some amazing formula at this blush too. Mine is still new and I only had a chance to try it twice, but the formula is nothing special for a powdery product, though maybe I need to get thought the top layer. It's a classic firm texture with a silky smooth formula. My shade Plum Rose looks just as bland in real life as you can see it on my pictures, I don't even know how to describe this colour, maybe muted pinky-taupe. When I swatched it I was so disappointed because it barely shows up on my NC10 skin tone, but when I tried it on the cheeks it shows up, though it's very subtle. The shade is completely unique in my collection and it sort of just defines the cheeks a bit, giving a hint of a natural, slightly peachy, muted taupe-i...

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Powder

Image
I'm not that big on finishing powders, in fact I rarely wear them and so far I've only liked two. The first is Bourjois Poudre de Riz Java , which I actually don't use that much anymore mainly because it's a loose powder and I prefer the less messy compact ones, so I use this second one from Physician's Formula a lot more often. The thing about powders and my skin is that they make my foundation cake up later in the day, so they are like a backstabbers that apply nicely and mattify, but then make the skin look so weird and make the makeup so obvious. Bourjois' Java and Physicians Nude Wear are so far the only powders I found that look natural on the skin and don't make me want to take the whole makeup off. Of course, I still want to try the universally loved Hourglass Ambient powders, but they are difficult to get as well as ridiculously expensive. It's a mix of four warm shades and the shimmery writing is just an overspray that disappears within the fir...
