Catrice #peeloff Glam Easy to Remove Effect Nail Polish

Image
Peel off nail polishes are hardly a novelty, but these Catrice ones are the first I tried and I'm hooked. As much as I love glitter on my nails, I rarely wear it because I detest the lengthy removal process and getting glitter everywhere, but this makes it so easy - all you need to do it peel it off and it's gone. #peeloff Glam are a collection of 8 glitter nail polish shades, I have 03 called When in Doubt Just Add Glitter which is a golden-bronze shade, the type of gold I love most because it's not too yellow toned. With one coat the glitter is sparse, so it needs at least two thick applications for an almost opaque look. The base formula reminds me of clear glue, it even smells like that and it applies like that too. Formula is thick and not that easy to apply nicely, so it's not a fast process. It takes a long time to dry completely and it's prone to dents for quite a while, but the glitter isn't falling off or transferring as it's drying. Once it's ...

Sally Hansen Color Therapy and Miracle Gel Nail Polish

Image
Color Therapy Nail Polish  180 Chai on Life This became one of my most worn nail polishes very quickly because the shade is absolutely perfect for my toes. It's a warm toned beige nude that is better suited for warm skin tones because it's got some yellow in it.  Formula is infused with argan oil which should make your nails healthier. Whether that's true I can't say because I have strong nails anyway, but when I take my nail polish of, my nail are in nice condition. Formula is very liquid, which makes my usual type of application very messy as I have a tendency to apply a thick first coat and this formula just spills around the nails. It's better to be patient with this one and do three thin applications instead of two and have a clean up later. It's pigmented enough to be a standard two coater and the brush is a nice rounded shape, but the formula doesn't allow it. If you're looking for a nude, this is a nice one to check out. Everything always lasts a...

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color 906 Ionic Indigo

Image
Magnetic nail polish trend has been gone for a few years now, but I've only recently tried my first one. I must say it's fun, but they won't sway me from my classic creamy finishes. I got this one in a swap from Canada. The magnet is included in the cap, the latter is actually in two parts, so you're applying the polish with a brush that has a smaller cap. The magnet has a build in guide that you rest on you cuticles and avoid touching the nail. You're supposed to apply one layer on all nails and let it dry completely, then apply a second thick one on one nail and quickly use the magnet before it dries. It works fast and sometimes you can see how it pulls the colours apart. My shade is 906 Ionic Indigo. It applies greyish blue-teal, but when you use the magnet, the base colour is revealed as a dark blue violet. The magnet creates a wavy design with the original colour and it works really well. I was afraid it won't because I remember hearing a lot of these magne...

L.O.V. Cosmetics LOVinity Nail Lacquer 264 Devoted Denim and 301 Bridal Bloom

Image
For spring/summer 2018 season L.O.V. added a few more shades my favourite nail polish line LOVinity and I got two: 264 Devoted Denim and 301 Bridal Bloom. I've reviewed the formula before in my other posts about these and these two have much the same formula, so again easy to apply as well as long-lasting (on my nails, for course).  301 Bridal Bloom 301 Bridal Bloom is a nail polish shade that's recurring among Cosnova's brands, in fact it's very similar to Essence's Forgive Me shade in the The Gel Nail Polish Line. It's a warm pastel pink and a great pastel formula, which in the era of gel nail polishes isn't that uncommon, but I still want to point out that's it's a nice formula to apply despite being thick. It's almost a one coater, it depends on how well you apply the first coat. On the pictures it's two coats with no top coat. Lana swatched it here and she reviews the formula from a point of view of someone who has weak and brittle na...

L.O.V. LOVtreat Color & Care Nail Lacquer 640 Soft Sensuality

Image
I still consider L.O.V nail polishes some of the best in the drugstores and they are my favourite, though I probably should emphasise that just about every nail polish lasts forever on my nails, so staying power isn't that important to me (though I think these outlast some other brands on me, but I can't say it'll be the same for those who have issues with their nail polish chipping fast). I love these because their formula is so nice to apply, so I in general have a lot less issues with these than with others and I love the shape of the brush because it fits my nails so well. I have several shades from their regular line called LOVinity and their gel top coat , which is also pretty good, but this shade was released last year and it's a part of their nude line of polishes that also provide some extra care.  640 Soft Sensuality is a milky nude shade that has a subtle warm undertone, though I could almost call it a neutral. It's the best shade I have for the no-nail...

Essence the Gel Nail Polish 98 pure beauty

Image
Pure Beauty is a nude shade that on my neutral skin tone tends to look a cool pinky nude or a warm pinky nude depending on the light, however, in the bottle it's unmistakably a cool shade. It's one of those shades that looks elegant and is suited for every occasion, though I lend it to someone more tan than me and it already looked too pale (I'm NC/W 10, she is NC25). I wore this for a month straight since I got it, it's just such an easy shade to wear and it has great staying power when I combine it with Seche Vite. Formula is like at all pastel shades among Essence's  gel nail polishes, thick and very opaque. It's not easy to apply, though nudes are often difficult anyway, but it ends up even with two coats. I got mine in Müller for 1.69 €.
