The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid

Image
Matte liquid lipsticks are some of my favourite beauty products and I've done a post with 14 different ones a few months ago, so I was excited to try The Body Shops' formula too. These aren't my favourite ever (still theBalm ), but they have the type of formula that's similar to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream , meaning they could be suited for dry lips too. I have three shades that were a part of the Christmas gift offering, but all the shades and more ( 17 in total ) are available individually.  Texture and finish: Formula of these is like I said before similar the mousse texture of NYX, also Bourjois'  are somewhat similar. They aren't as pigmented as others, which is most apparent at the darkest shade and they need more time to dry, but they do to a perfect matte finish. To me they don't feel drying, but like I said a million times so far, don't ask me if they are nice on dry lips, so check the review of my fellow blogger Lana  who praised them for their

New in #67

MILANI Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer 00A Porcelain I have the original "lightest" shade 01 Creamy Vanilla that I got as a part of my job a long time ago and I fell in love with the formula, but the shade is just nowhere close to being right for me, so when they finally released a super pale one (on their third try, hence the odd numbering), I vowed to get it. It took a while, but I finally ordered it as a birthday gift for myself and I can report the happy news that this is one of the best shades for me that I ever found. It's pretty much up there with Maybelline Fit me 110 / 100 and it's close in how light it is, while the undertone is pink-ish, though this is the most neutral foundation I own so far which is what makes it so great ( swatches ). Milani you were a massive disappointment from the start, but on your third try you bloody nailed it. Great job! I have a full review of this formula already of that other shade, but briefly I'll just s

Catrice California in a Box Bronze & Blush Palette

Image
Catrice again launched a ton of new products for spring/summer 2018 and this time they also included some interesting palettes. This one is an all-in-one type with two blushes, two bronzers and a highlighter, all in warm, summery tones. As far as Catrice powder products go, they are usually great quality, especially their blushes, but this palette didn't quite convince me. However, most of my fellow bloggers like it, so I'm in the minority here. Texture: Quality of the powders varies in palette. The top left coral blush is the second best quality here, but that's mostly because of the shimmer which is finely milled and has a highlighter effect. Blush has a good pigmentation, but it's a bit harder to blend than their Defining and Illuminating blushes (both discontinued). The second blush which looked a lot more my colour than the coral one, disappointed me with its pigmentation. When I tried to swatch it the first time there was no colour on my finger, but after I use

Catrice Instant Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Catrice took a more innovative approach when creating their latest eyeshadow palette. Do you know those tattoo eyeshadows for one use? This uses a somewhat similar idea, except it's with only two colours. It doesn't work well of course, who would want two straight streaks of colour on the eyes anyway, but the eyeshadows itself are really nice, especially for drugstore. The concept: You get a large sponge applicator with this and the idea is that you pick up both of the shades at once and then apply them on the eyes with the dark shade close to the lashes. There are several problems doing it that way, the most obvious that it just looks strange and unblended. It also doesn't take into account the shape of eyes and that it's really difficult to do neatly. Texture: eyeshadows are soft and pigmented, so overall nice quality especially the shimmers/satin ones. The purple one is matte and has a harder texture than the others, but it's nonetheless pigmented and works well

Look by Bipa Matte Camouflage Concealer

Image
I'm one of those who doesn't like a lot of coverage when it comes to the base and concealer, so I'm a fan od formulas like Bourjois Radiance Reveal , but when I need to cover spots,  Collection Lasting Perfection  was my favourite for many years. Look concealer finally knocked it off its throne and I credit the original find for this to Petra, who also kindly sent it to me. She already posted her review here . It's a concealer that's sadly only available in Bipa, an Austrian drugstore chain, which doesn't have shops in Slovenia. Texture : It's one of the high coverage matte concealers that's very similar to the likes of Catrice Liquid Camouflage and Collection Lasting Perfection , but more to the latter as Catrice's is thinner and has a bit less coverage. Formula is creamy and easy to blend either with fingers, a sponge or a brush. It doesn't set immediately, so you have some extra time to work with it, but then it sets quite matte, at least on

Misslyn Mermaid Rainbow Highlighter

Image
I think it was last month that Misslyn launched Let's Be Mermaids collection, which contains a few highlighters in pretty boxes, a mermaid tail makeup brush and a few colourful liquid eyeliners. Misslyn has become known for their retro & cute cardboard packaging, which were originally a part of their Pop Art limited edition, but they added the products to their regular line and expanded the shade range as well as added more products. Quality of their powders has always been mixed, with some great stuff like their bronzers (I got the darkest one a while ago, but I reviewed it nonetheless here ) and their more powdery formulas of blushes, highlighter and mattifying powder. But this collection really surprised me with the quality, especially this highlighter that convinced me to get it for my birthday. There are two other highlighters, one is gold which is just excellent quality and will work great for warm undertones, and the other is a pink creamy one, which is the least glowy
